Colin Rhodes
- Director
Colin graduated in 1981 with a B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying
and spent 3 years with a small construction company building
individual family homes in Aberdeen. He would recall, 20 years
later, that these were the most rewarding and enjoyable projects
to be involved in. Colin moved to the Morrison Construction
Group as Commercial Manager, was promoted to Development Manager
in 1985 and became involved in the building of supermarkets
and large civil engineering works.
In 1989 Colin joined Ashbourne Retirement Homes with a remit
to grow the company through new build and acquisitions. Eight
years later, through prudent land purchase and a meticulous
design and build plan, Colin and his team had grown the business
by over 800% and turned Ashbourne into one of the UK’s
leading retirement home providers.
In 1999 Colin moved into business for himself designing and
managing nursing home developments on behalf of Southern Cross
Healthcare and managing the land purchase and build of the new
Central Car Auctions premises in Glasgow.

John Walker - Director
John graduated from Robert
Gordon’s University in Aberdeen with a B.Sc. in Quantity
Surveying and as a Professional Associate of the Royal Institute
of Chartered Surveyors. After 3 years at William Talbot he
moved to Morrison Construction as Senior Quantity Surveyor.
1990 brought promotion to Business
Development Manager where John was responsible for the identification
of suitable development opportunities. Elevated to Procurement
Manager John was responsible for estimating, design, build
and procurement functions on major projects.
In 1996 John joined Morrison
Homes as Regional Development Manager and over 5 years grew
the business from a standing start to become a major house
builder completing over 500 homes per year.

With two lifetimes of experience
in the building industry Colin and John founded Lorimer Homes
in early 2002 to pursue their dream of building innovative
and practical homes in the most desirable of locations. Their
drive and vision has brought six of the most exiting new developments
in Scotland and made Lorimer Homes one of the most respected
specialist house builders.
